If you are looking for a DIY costume purchase the Universal Studios Monsters Child's Dracula costume, it is held together by threads. The stitches in the vest were pulling loose when removed from the package. The capes tie is a long chain stitch. The velcro on one side of the shirt wasn't even attached. The entire costume is going to have to be sewn before my son wears the costume.Just okay ...
The collar was bent when we received it and we were unable to get it straightened. Additionally, the medallion would not stay on the ribbon and I had to rethread it onto a different ribbon. While I understand costumes are meant to last that long, they should be able to be worn a few times. In comparison to other costumes I've purchased, I would say this rates pretty low. I bought this costume for my 8 yr old son to wear this past Halloween. All in all it was adorable, however, the leg coverings were very confusing to put on. There weren't directions, so I followed the way it looked on the photo, and it did not cover his pants as shown in the photo. Also, I did not see a string to tie the belt, so I used a shoelace. It kept turning so most of his jeans were exposed. The straps to hold it in place on the bottom also broke off so I improvised to keep it in place. I thought he looked great, but my son said he wouldn't wear it again, as he didn't like the bottoms. The vest and hat were perfect.Another winner from Aeromax
My son is into cowboys riding on the range lately, so this is a Christmas gift that will be enjoyed greatly. With two boys who liked to play dress-up at young ages, this is our 3rd Aeromax costume (we also have the fireman and astronaut costumes). Because of the price, I reluctantly bought the fireman costume many years ago when my oldest was obsessed with firemen. I now know these are worth every penny! I got this costume for my son for Halloween. I figured it was a 2 for 1 since we were wanting to get him a jersey from Dad's favorite team to wear this fall anyway. The jersey and pants are true to size. The helmet is probably my son's favorite part. He loves wearing it around the house. The iron on letters, which I thought would look cheap, actually look really good. The "shoulder pads" are hard plastic discs that slide in and out of a pocket in the shoulder of the jersey. Since we'll only be wearing those for trick or treating, I figure it doesn't really matter that they are so clinky.

When I received the item in question, it was definitely not what I ordered. There was no invoice in the box so trying to contact the seller was nearly impossible. The item was shipped in time for when I needed but was clearly not the item pictured. It is pictured with hat, shoe covers, pants, and shirt. The shoe covers and hat were included, but the other item was a vest with an open front and small jingle bells sewed onto the front (one of which was missing). It is also important to note that even though I inadvertently ordered the wrong size which was 4-8, what was shipped was actually L/XL.
I did call Amazon customer service and they were very helpful. Amazon offered to send me something else sold by them for the same price to be here by tomorrow night, but since I am able to make this costume work with a few other items I'll have to purchase, they were happy and I agreed to adjust my purchase price by 50%.
In the end, make sure buyer beware when ordering things from...mannequin clothes.

Nothing like the cheap "don't get near a fire" material you find on racks at stores. This costume was a huge hit with my son. It is well made. Not made out of cheap material, it almost looks like the one harry potter wore himself! It is true to the color in the picture and comes with the gold stitching you'd expect. It has potter 7 on the back stitched perfectly. It is a very warm costume. The only problem is that even the replica team jerseys are very expensive, the print deteriorates quickly in the wash, and he outgrows them so fast. We have been buying him these types of jersey / helmet sets for about 3 years now, and he loves, loves, loves them! I'll bet we probably have 10 sets in all. They are fairly well made, pretty true to size, and they don't lose their lettering in the wash...at all! (I don't dry them, though. I hang them straight out of the washer.) I haven't tried the sticky numbers on the back so I can't tell you how well they stay on. The chin-strap and shoulder pads are just eh...(but so what for the price!) However the helmet, pants, and jersey are adorable, and he has the whole gettup...not just the jersey. Definitely a win-win for kids and parents! If your son likes football, I highly recommend these uniform sets!Love!

Great Commander Fox costume! A little cheaply made (as expected), but otherwise very cool. Here are some details:
Helmet - very stinky plastic smell...needs to air out outside for a couple days. Also, plastic is a little blurry to see through, and tends to smoosh child's nose. Looks good, but no kid would keep this on for very long. Then again, costume looks great even without helmet.
Belt - Is a separate piece that ties on. It's pretty big, but the tie makes is adjustable.
Fit - We ordered a size small (4-6) for my five year-old who is 3' 8" tall and slim (40 pounds). He wears a 5 or 5 Slim in jeans and an XS (4-5-ish) t-shirt. Jumpsuit part of the costume fits him well (not tight), although a little long in the legs. Shoe covers (which are attached) can be folded under if he wants to wear with bare feet, which avoids a tripping hazard as he runs through the house!
Velcro closures - the rough side of the Velcro tends to stick to the...Terrible Company!
They do not have a size guide and size M is 8-10 but is for ages 5 to 7 year olds, which makes no sense. And the company was rude when i called!bad shipping procedures

The hole in the hat fit wonderfully around his head but the whole thing was so gosh darn big it was making his head tilt. (so it wasn't warn for very long) I feared the vest would be too big since my son is so naturally skinny, but it looked pretty good and could still fit him for 3 more years.
Overall it's a good buy, but for smaller fellows, I suggest finding a different hat. or you could easily take some stuffing out of this one and sew it in a bit.Missing half the costume

While our five year old was thrilled with the costume, we were less than impressed. I am sure the fine print explained that all you get is a hat and vest, yet we missed that. The picture shows the child in an outfit that matches the Toad colors and we assumed it was included. However we had to put together the rest of the outfit since the vest and hat were not enough. I should also mention that while the hat has ample room for any size head -- the vest is very tight. Our son is on the very tall side, but thin and he had a hard time getting it on over a t-shirt. What's good:
With soft fabric and bright color, this one is nicely made, good quality costume for classic characters - Thing 1/2. This Halloween my kids received more attention, more compliments, and believe it or not, more candies. This is the type of "things" worth to keep after one or two use, they will stay valuable with your kids' sweet childhood memories.
What's not good enough:
- Wigs. These lovely bright blue "hair" are not the most comfortable wigs to wear. Some fiber tends to detach from the wig and stuck on kids' faces, makes their skin itchy. My boys tried to take wigs off after wearing them for five or ten munities. To fix the problem, I cut off a little fiber around areas near face and forehead, to make them more comfortable and wearable for longer time.
- Price. There are a lot of more expensive costumes out there; but making this outfit seems quite straight forward, and the type of fabric, even with good quality, should not be too...Perfect

We had to do some sewing, but not because it didn't fit, but because it was ripped. The hat was also in need to be fixed. This can only be worn for about two hours of very, very careful use...better suited for picture taking, not too good for trick or treating. Big rip off for the price.fabulous costume

My 3.5 yr old wore this for Halloween. I would have given it 5 stars had the shoulder pads been better. My son couldn't wear the shoulder pads because they kept sliding down. It also washes well as it was all my son would wear for a few days after receiving it.So much fun!

Great little uniform! The helmet is sturdy and comes with a chin strap, but it is definitely not made for full contact. It's just a toy! The jersey is a nice lightweight mesh and comes with two inserts in the shoulders for the two little plastic pads. The little pads are for aesthetics to give the jersey a more realistic appearance of a uniform, but they are a pretty thick plastic and looked like they would be uncomfortable, so I removed them and bought the Franklin toy shoulder pads instead (they are foam and look realistic and really puff the jersey out). FYI, the uniforms run small. I bought this medium for a 3 yr old. It is too big for him (pants are too long, jersey is too big), but it fits well enough for him to play in it, and he can enjoy it for a few years instead of only getting a few months of play out of it. If your boy is into football, these uniforms (any of the Franklin NFL/NCAA series) are a huge hit.> Click to See Editorial Reviews

This costume is adorable. Though there isn't enough hair on the hat, and the hat seemed small and hard to keep on. Didn't help that my two year old kept pulling it off. I had to try and secure with Bobby pins since it wouldn't stay on his head. Just didn't fit it at all. I also cut the yarn hair off since the amount was pathetic. It's fine for the price for a kid that really likes the Samurai Power Rangers but I wouldn't have bought it if I had known it didn't come with a real belt.Very happy 5yr old

I bought this for my six-year old son based on other reviews of the costume quality. It came in good time and looked ok when I took it out but within 3 days it was ripping on the neckline, the velcro wasn't sticking and the (very cheap and flimsy) belt part was broken. The mask is TERRIBLE!! My son can't see out of it and it's oddly shaped and uncomfortable. He kept trying to wear it because he wanted the full effect of the costume but he hated it and couldn't see!
Don't spend the money on this.Great costume
My son had to have all of the power ranger costumes and wears them daily. The size is great, a little on the big side which I like so he gets more time out of it. The costume held up pretty good although there is some lose seams that I had to repair. If the sticking was better it would get 5 stars but considering the number of times it's gone on and off its pretty durable!My son loves it!

My son loves Starwars and had been eyeing out this costume for a while. I went with the medium after looking at numerous reviews. My son is 7 years old and 54 inches tall. The costume just fit in the body but was a good 5 inches to short in length. I didn't have time to return the costume, so we made it fit by sewing elastic to the bottom and connecting under his shoes... there is no way he'll be wearing it again. PLEASE BE AWARE! Although the picture of this costume shows a blue shirt IT IS NOT BLUE. It is black (and a different style as well). My son is the "Blue Pilgrim" in his schools' Thanksgiving Play - this costume (judging by the picture) was perfect! We received the costume on time... it was black. I figured it was a mistake in the warehouse and sent it back. Second costume arrived... still black.
I purchased this costume ONLY because the picture is shown as blue. Dress rehearsal is tomorrow and the Blue Pilgrim does not have a blue costume.

We are homeschoolers and had just visited Jamestown, VA when my son announced he wanted to be a colonial boy for Halloween. The costume was reasonably priced and is of fair construction and quality. I have washed it several times on gentle cycle and it still looks great. We already had a colonial hat and I purchased white knee-high girls' socks (don't tell my son), and it looks fantastic.
