My daughter is five and my son was turning three. He kept wanting to dress up like a princess in the sparkly skirts/Disney dresses of my daughter with her. One day I realized that its not that he wants to be a "princess"- its that he had nothing fun to dress up in like his sister! I looked everywhere and he really was not excited about anything- for his birthday, he wanted to have a "princess party." I was totally fine with supporting my son and then I realized that when he's 17, he might hate me if he saw himself dressed up like a princess in pictures. So, we decided to throw a "royal" birthday party- he would be the king and everyone else could be princes and princesses. I promised I would find him the best king outfit. Ta da! This was perfect.
