My 3 1/2 year old son wanted to be a ghost for Halloween. I found this costume and bought it because it would be a friendly ghost costume and it wasn't expensive. While it was cute, it would not stay on him. Even if he'd been a little taller, there was no way to keep the costume from slipping over his eyes. It needs something inside the costume to secure it to the child's head. (The little round circle that sits on top of the child's head does not work.) It was so difficult to keep in place that he didn't want to wear it and ended up using his Batman dress up clothes instead. Until they improve the design of this, I wouldn't recommend it. Instead, cut up an old sheet or better yet, convince your kid to be something else for Halloween.
